4D 3N Kuching & Rumah Panjai Culture Living Day 1 Arrival Kuching International Airport – Meet and proceed for half-day Kuching City tour, visiting places of interest such as Colonial Court House, Astana (palace), Clock Tower, Charles Brooke Monument, Sarawak Museum, Cat Museum, Kuching Waterfront, Chinese Temple, City Tower and the finale being a photo taking session in front of the giant Cat Monument. Lunch at local restaurant. After tour, transfer to hotel for check-in and free at leisure. (L) Day 2 Please get yourself ready by 7.30am. The journey from Kuching to Lemanak Iban longhouse will take approximately 3-4 hours and stopover at Serian Baazar for provision and also buy some souvenirs such as foodstuffs for the folk of the longhouse Lunch will be at the Sri Aman rest stop. After lunch proceed to Sebeliau jetty for boat ride. The journey will take approximately 45 to an hour depending on the water level and dry season; you might need to get down into the river to push the boat thru certain part of the river. Traditional Dance Performance- After dinner, proceed to the “ruai” (verandah) of the longhouse to meet the headman and mingle with longhouse. You will see their gorgeous traditional costume & jewelries on, & hear the traditional music, which are played by the local musicians and join in the dance with the dancers. They are more than happy to teach you step by step on how to do the traditional dance. Have fun all night until you drop! (B/L/D) Day 3 Breakfast to be served from 7 am. After breakfast, witness the blowpipes (Nyumpit) demonstration and cock fighting (nyabong) a favourite pastimes of the native of Sarawak. Afterwards, proceed for nature walk and learn about edible and medicinal plants and also see how the local set their animals trap. With the local guide explanation about the things you see along the trail, you will start to understand about their surrounding jungle & how they use the natural jungle resources to compliment their daily needs. After lunch, free at own leisure or explore the longhouse. You may chit – chating with the host & the local while drinking local rice wine (known as Tuak or Ai Langkau).
